CarLite Diet
|
|
|
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Car Lite
Diet program this month!
Network222 was one of several participants chosen to
pilot this program, which is part of a larger initiative to
improve Dane County's air quality.
Also, please join us in congratulating Stafford and
Rosenbaum's Renee Hegberg, winner of a $100.00
Downtown Madison Gift Card!
During the Diet, Renee carpooled 750 miles to work.
She shared her ride with two others. By taking two
cars off
the road, they reduced traffic and improved our air
quality, including reducing approximately 1500
pounds of global warming pollution in just two weeks!
Congratulations Renee!

Maintenance Minutes
|
|
Maintenance Minutes will feature articles from
Fiore's maintenance department. This month we
have some thoughts on energy consumption from
Phillip Maier, Director of Facilities.
I was recently involved in a lively discussion relating to
global warming. Most of our group had a good
understanding what they could do within their
personal lives but had very little understanding how
they could impact their work environment. I have listed
a few items as a starting point that can become part of
your office operating practices at Network222.
- Turning lights off that are not needed and don't
forget your work station lighting.
- By working with your I.T. department deciding
which computers can be turned off at the end of the
day.
- Switching off copier machines and coffee
makers.
- Keeping a light sweater within your work
environment that can be close at hand for the
seasonal change overs.
- Lastly and my favorite, we have all heard from the
medical profession encouraging us to "take the
stairs"! Did you realize that taking the stairs is also
good for the environment? Elevators do use electrical
energy to operate.
