Here’s what John Pollard says about his commute to Network222:

I live on the west side of Madison and normally drive to the office. Recently I bought a new road bike, and I have the goal of biking to Network222 unless weather or plans outside of work interfere.

What do you like best about your commute?

The best part is the bike path. It’s a beautiful ride on the Capitol City and Southwest Commuter trails from
my house to Network222. It’s about as fast as driving, and I’ve taken care of my workout at the same time. I previously worked at home and enjoyed exercising outdoors during the day, so biking is helping me to find a regular time to be active outdoors that still fits my busy work/life schedule.

What’s the worst thing about biking to work?

It definitely takes more planning. I’m at the stage of working through all of the logistics. I bike hard and arrive sweaty, so I use the Network22 locker room and shower*. But then the questions are, "What do I do with my towel and all my stinky sweaty stuff?" "How do I streamline the process of packing clothes for the office?" Right now I’m working out the solutions to those questions and trying establish a routine for myself.

Do you have a favorite spot within walking distance of Network222?

It’s a cool feeling to discover all the things happening downtown. I’ve lived in the Madison suburbs (which could be Anywhere, USA) for 6 years and really haven’t taken advantage of all that Madison has to offer.
This location offers me the opportunity to easily check out what’s going on. The (somewhat) urban setting
also has some of the vibe that reminds me of my earlier stints in Boston and New York. It’s really helping me to appreciate Madison.

Network222 policy is: When you use the locker room, please do not leave locks on lockers overnight. Thanks!
